Spanish · Morning Brief

Spanish conversation practice before your first coffee.

You understand far more Spanish than you can say. That gap closes when you speak every day. Morning Brief calls you for five minutes in Spanish, keeps the conversation going, and gives you back every slip as something to practise.

A Spanish call, start to finish
Cadi

¡Buenos días! ¿Qué tal ayer?

Morning! How was yesterday?

You

Bien, pero ayer era un día muy largo. Trabajé hasta las nueve.

Good, but yesterday was a really long day. I worked until nine.

Cadi

¡Hasta las nueve! ¿Y hoy? ¿Tienes algo bonito pensado?

Until nine! And today? Got anything nice planned?

You

Hoy voy a cenar con unos amigos, si no estoy muy cansado.

Today I'm having dinner with some friends, if I'm not too tired.

Cadi keeps it light and follows what you say. The slip in the second line is saved for later; she does not stop you for it.

How it works

Four steps to your first call

  1. Spanish, already picked

You came here for Spanish, so that step is done. You can change it on the next screen.

  2. Your number and a time

Create an account, add your mobile number, and choose when mornings suit you, in your own time zone.

  3. 7 days free, no card

Your calls start straight away. We only ask for payment if you want to keep them after the first week.

  4. Your phone rings

Cadi calls, you chat for about five minutes, and your recap is waiting when you hang up.

Why Spanish learners stall at "I understand, but I can't speak"

Spanish is generous to English speakers at first. Thousands of words look familiar, and after a few months of shows and podcasts you follow most of what you hear. Then you try to tell someone about your weekend and the sentence falls apart halfway.

The hard parts of Spanish are decisions you make while talking: preterite or imperfect, ser or estar, indicative or subjunctive after "espero que". You can know every rule and still freeze, because rules are not reflexes. Reflexes come from saying it, hearing a better version, and saying it again.

Five minutes a day is enough to start. Talking about your own day means you use the past ("ayer fui"), the present and the future ("voy a…") in every call, with things you actually want to say.

After the call

The Spanish mistakes that come back to you

Every call ends with a recap. These are the kinds of fixes Spanish learners see most, and each one turns into a review card.

  • Soy cansado hoyEstoy cansado hoyHow you feel right now takes estar.
  • Ayer era un día muy largoAyer fue un día muy largoA finished, bounded day takes the preterite.
  • Espero que tienes un buen díaEspero que tengas un buen día"Espero que" is followed by the subjunctive.
Morning Brief

Less than one tutor hour a month

CA$49/month for a call every morning. One hour with a private tutor usually costs CA$60–100. This does not replace that hour; it makes it count.

If you already see a Spanish tutor, the calls give you the daily speaking a weekly lesson cannot, and you can bring your list of fixes so the hour goes to what you actually get wrong.

7 days free with no card. Then CA$49/month (or CA$490/year) if you want to keep your calls.

Questions

Can I practise Latin American Spanish, or Spain Spanish?

Both. Cadi speaks the accent you choose: Mexican, Spain (Peninsular), Argentine, Colombian or Chilean Spanish. Mexican Spanish is the default.

I only know a little Spanish. Is the call too hard?

Beginners get a different call: Cadi speaks slowly, uses short questions you can answer in a few words, and mixes in English when you are stuck. You can also set her speed in Settings.

Does Cadi correct me during the call?

No. Stopping you mid-sentence kills the conversation. She keeps talking with you, and the corrections and better phrasings are in your recap after you hang up.

How is this different from a Spanish conversation exchange?

An exchange partner is great when you can find one and the times match. Morning Brief is there every morning at your time, it never runs out of patience, and it keeps a record of your mistakes, which a friendly partner usually will not.

What does it cost?

7 days free with no card. Then CA$49/month (or CA$490/year) if you want to keep your calls.

Speak out loud every morning. Watch it get easier.
