Portuguese · Morning Brief
Portuguese conversation practice, Brazilian or European.
Portuguese sounds different from how it looks, and the only fix is speaking it. Morning Brief calls you every morning for five minutes in the Portuguese you want, Brazilian or European, and saves what you got wrong so it comes back as practice.

Spanish speakers and Portuguese: so close it gets in the way
Many people learning Portuguese already know some Spanish, and it helps for reading. In speech it pulls you toward Spanish words, Spanish vowels and Spanish grammar, so you end up speaking "portuñol". Daily speaking with feedback is what separates the two.
Portuguese also has two very different spoken standards. Brazilian Portuguese is open and melodic; European Portuguese swallows its vowels and can be hard to follow at first. Pick the one you need and Cadi speaks it every call.
Five minutes about your own day is enough to use the past, the present and plans for later in every call: "fui", "estou", "vou".
After the call
The Portuguese mistakes that come back to you
After each call you get a recap. Here are typical fixes, each one turned into a review card.
- Eu sou com fomeEu estou com fomeTemporary states take estar (estar com fome).
- Eu tenho 30 anos de idade e eu gosto muitoTenho 30 anos e gosto muitoPortuguese usually drops the subject pronoun and "de idade".
- Ontem eu ia ao cinemaOntem eu fui ao cinemaA single finished event takes the pretérito perfeito.
Less than one tutor hour a month
CA$49/month for a call every morning. One hour with a private tutor usually costs CA$60–100. This does not replace that hour; it makes it count.
If you take Portuguese lessons, the calls give you daily speaking between them, and your recap is a ready-made list for your next lesson.
7 days free with no card. Then CA$49/month (or CA$490/year) if you want to keep your calls.

If you have a goal and a date, an exam, a move or a job, we can pair the calls with a tutor who reviews your mistakes and plans what you practise between sessions. Tell us what you need and we will call you.
Book a callQuestions
Brazilian or European Portuguese?
Either. Brazilian Portuguese is the default; switch to European Portuguese in Settings at any time.
I speak Spanish. Will this help me stop mixing them?
Speaking Portuguese daily is the best way to separate the two, and your recap points out the Spanish that slipped in.
Can you call me in Brazil or Portugal?
Yes, Brazil and Portugal are both on our calling list, as are Canada, the US and most of Europe. We check your number during setup.
What if I am a beginner?
Beginners get a slower call with short questions and help in English when needed.
How much does it cost?
7 days free with no card. Then CA$49/month (or CA$490/year) if you want to keep your calls.
