1. Service Description

Cadentia is an AI-powered language tutoring platform that provides:

• Real-time voice conversations with AI tutors for Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Romanian, English, Greek, Armenian, and Swedish
• Error tracking and analysis to identify your learning patterns
• Spaced repetition system for long-term retention
• Progress tracking and learning statistics

2. Account Terms

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Cadentia account directly. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the service.

School and classroom accounts work differently. Where a school, district, or other institution provisions Cadentia for its students, the institution is responsible for confirming that each student may use the service and for obtaining any consent required under the law that applies to it. Students join through a classroom join code or an institution invitation rather than by signing up on their own. See the Privacy Policy for what a teacher can see.

Account Responsibility

• You may only create one account per person
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account
• You may not share your account with others

3. Acceptable Use

When using Cadentia, you agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to bypass or manipulate our systems
• Use abusive, offensive, or inappropriate language toward the AI or in ways that could harm our systems
• Share content that violates others' rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract our AI models or proprietary technology
• Use automated tools to access the service without permission
• Resell or redistribute access to the service

4. Subscription and Billing

Free Tier

We offer a free tier with a limited amount of practice time each month. Free tier limits may change at any time; the current limits are shown on our pricing page and in your account.

Individual Plans

These terms cover individual plans. Schools and institutions are on separate agreements. Our individual plans are:

• Free: a limited amount of practice time, as described above
• Daily: CA$19 per month or CA$190 per year
• Unlimited: CA$59 per month or CA$540 per year. Talk time is subject to a fair-use limit of 60 minutes per day
• Morning Brief: CA$49 per month or CA$490 per year, either on its own or as an add-on to any plan
• Fluency (tutor) program: CA$1,290 for 12 weeks (one-time payment), or CA$449 per month with a 3-month minimum. The program is sold after an application and a call

• Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and exclude tax. We do not currently collect sales tax; if that changes, we will tell you before it applies to you
• Beta pricing is locked in for as long as your subscription stays active
• If you subscribed to an earlier plan (such as Plus or Premium, or an earlier Morning Brief price), you keep that plan and its price
• Monthly and annual subscriptions are billed through Stripe and auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You can cancel anytime from your account settings

Morning Brief Free Trial

Morning Brief includes a 7-day free trial. No card is required to start. Between day 5 and 8 we will ask you to add payment details to continue. We never charge you unless you enter payment details yourself. If you have not added payment by the end of day 8, your Morning Brief calls pause until you do.

Fluency (Tutor) Program

The terms of the Fluency program, including payment, the 3-month minimum on the monthly option, cancellation and refunds, are governed by the agreement confirmed at enrolment.

Refunds

For Daily, Unlimited and Morning Brief, we offer refunds on a case-by-case basis. If you're unsatisfied with the service, contact us within 7 days of your purchase to request a refund. Refunds for the Fluency program are governed by the agreement confirmed at enrolment.

5. Service Availability

We strive to keep Cadentia available 24/7, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may occasionally need to:

• Perform maintenance or updates
• Address technical issues
• Modify or discontinue features

We'll try to provide advance notice of significant planned downtime when possible.

6. No Guarantees

Cadentia is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we work hard to provide an effective learning experience, we cannot guarantee:

• That you will achieve any specific level of language proficiency
• That the AI tutor will be error-free in its corrections or teaching
• That the service will meet all your specific learning needs

Our AI tutors are designed to assist your learning, but they are not a replacement for human instruction or immersion.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Cadentia—including the AI models, curriculum, and user interface—are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of the content you create (like personal notes and the things you say in a session), but grant us a licence to process your learning data in order to operate and improve the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your conversations to train AI models, and our AI vendors are used under terms that exclude our data from their model training.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these terms
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Abuse our systems or other users

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cadentia and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you don't agree with the new terms, you should stop using the service.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
