CadentiaTEF and TCF Canada Exam Centres: How to Find One and Book
How to find an approved TEF Canada or TCF Canada exam centre, how booking works, what to ask the centre, and how to avoid last-minute problems.
To book a TEF Canada or TCF Canada exam, find an approved centre through the test owner's official finder, check its session dates, and register with that centre. Each centre is independent: it sets its dates and fees, takes your registration, and handles cancellations. We link to the official finders instead of listing centres, because addresses, prices and calendars change.
How do you book the TEF Canada?
The TEF Canada is run by CCI Paris Île-de-France (le français des affaires). Its site has a centre finder and a registration page. The steps it describes are:
- Select the exam (TEF Canada).
- Enter the city or country where you want to sit it, and when.
- Review the centres and session dates it returns.
- Contact a centre or pre-register.
- After the centre validates your registration, it emails you further information.
How do you book the TCF Canada?
The TCF Canada is run by France Éducation international (FEI). It is delivered through approved centres, which you find from the TCF Canada page and FEI's centre listings. Each centre builds its own calendar and has its own registration process. FEI's site blocked automated access while we researched this, so confirm the steps there directly.
What should you ask the centre?
| Ask | Why |
|---|---|
| Which exam sessions are available, and when do registrations close? | Sessions differ by centre and may fill up |
| Is the speaking test on the same day as the other sections? | Schedules vary |
| What is the fee and the cancellation policy? | Fees and rules are set by the centre or country |
| What ID and documents do I need? | Identity is checked at registration and on the day |
| When and how will I get my results? | Plan your Express Entry timing around this |
| What is the retake policy? | In case you need a second attempt |
How do you plan the timing?
IRCC requires language results to be less than 2 years old when you complete your Express Entry profile and submit your application (IRCC). So:
- Do not sit the test too early.
- Leave time to retake if one ability, often speaking, lands below your target. See how to get NCLC 7 in speaking.
- Work backwards from your exam date to plan practice. A schedule is in the 3-month TEF speaking plan.
Not sure which test? See TEF vs TCF for Express Entry.
What should you do before exam day?
- Check the format once more: TEF Canada or TCF Canada.
- Do timed speaking tasks out loud, not just reading practice.
- Do a full-length mock a few days before, then rest.
Where Cadentia fits
Cadentia does not run or book exams. It offers a free timed Section A call so you can rehearse the TEF Canada speaking format before your session, and see which criteria you hit and missed. It gives no score and is not an official resource. Cadentia is not affiliated with CCI Paris Île-de-France or France Éducation international.

Frequently asked questions
How do I book the TEF Canada?
Use the official centre finder on the TEF site (lefrancaisdesaffaires.fr) to choose the exam, your city or country and your timeframe. You will get a list of centres and session dates, and can contact a centre or pre-register. Once validated, the centre sends further information by email.
How do I book the TCF Canada?
The TCF is delivered through approved centres, found through France Éducation international's site. Each centre sets its own calendar and registration process, so contact the centre you choose.
How much does the TEF or TCF cost?
It varies by centre and country, and it changes, so we do not quote a price. Ask the centre for the current fee.
Do the TEF and TCF have centres in Canada?
Yes, both tests are offered in Canada through approved centres, and the official finders list them. We do not list addresses because they change; use the official finders.
How early should I book?
As soon as you know your target window. Each centre sets its own session dates, and some fill quickly, so allow time for a retake if you need one.
Can I practise speaking before the exam day?
Yes. Cadentia has a free timed Section A practice call at /tef. It is not an official resource and it gives no score.
