TEF · TCF · Morning Brief

Speaking practice for the TEF and TCF, every single morning.

Of the four TEF and TCF skills, speaking is the hardest one to practise alone. Morning Brief gives you five minutes of spoken French every morning, so by test day speaking is a habit, not a performance.

What daily practice sounds like
Cadi

Bonjour ! Tu as passé une bonne soirée ?

Hello! Did you have a good evening?

You

Oui, j'ai étudié pour mon examen. Je le passe dans trois semaines.

Yes, I studied for my exam. I'm taking it in three weeks.

Cadi

Trois semaines, c'est bientôt ! Qu'est-ce qui te stresse le plus ?

Three weeks is soon! What stresses you most?

You

L'oral. Quand je parle, je cherche mes mots tout le temps.

The oral. When I speak, I search for my words all the time.

The call is a conversation about your life, the same kind of everyday topic the oral tests start from.

How it works

Four steps to your first call

  1. French, already picked

You came here for French, so that step is done. You can change it on the next screen.

  2. Your number and a time

Create an account, add your mobile number, and choose when mornings suit you, in your own time zone.

  3. 7 days free, no card

Your calls start straight away. We only ask for payment if you want to keep them after the first week.

  4. Your phone rings

Cadi calls, you chat for about five minutes, and your recap is waiting when you hang up.

What Morning Brief does for exam prep, and what it does not

The TEF Canada and TCF Canada oral sections ask you to speak spontaneously: ask questions, explain, argue a point, keep going when you lose a word. Fluency under a little pressure comes from speaking often. Most candidates study grammar and vocabulary for months and speak for a few minutes a week.

Morning Brief is not a mock exam and does not score you. It is the daily speaking you need underneath your exam prep: five minutes of real French every morning, and a recap of the exact errors you make, so the ones that would cost you on test day get fixed weeks before.

French results can count for a lot in Canadian immigration, so plenty of candidates also work with a tutor on the exam format. The calls make those sessions more useful: you arrive warmed up, with your recurring mistakes already listed.

After the call

Errors examiners hear all the time

These are the kinds of fixes your recap will show. Each one becomes a review card, so you practise it until it is automatic.

  • Je passe mon examen en trois semainesJe passe mon examen dans trois semaines"Dans" says when something will happen; "en" says how long it takes.
  • Si j'aurais le tempsSi j'avais le temps"Si" is followed by the imparfait, never the conditional.
  • Il faut que je vaisIl faut que j'aille"Il faut que" takes the subjunctive.

Less than one tutor hour a month

CA$49/month for a call every morning. One hour with a private tutor usually costs CA$60–100. This does not replace that hour; it makes it count.

If you are working with a TEF or TCF tutor, keep them. They teach the test. The calls give you the daily speaking a tutor cannot fit into an hour a week.

7 days free with no card. Then CA$49/month (or CA$490/year) if you want to keep your calls.

Questions

Is this a TEF or TCF mock test?

No. Morning Brief is a daily conversation in French, not a simulation of the exam tasks and not a score. It builds the spontaneous speaking those tasks depend on, alongside whatever exam preparation you use.

Will this guarantee me a CLB level or Express Entry points?

No one can promise that. What daily practice does is give you many more hours of speaking before your test date than lessons alone.

Quebec French or France French?

Either. The TEF and TCF accept any standard French; practise the accent you hear most, or the one you want to sound like.

How early before my test should I start?

As early as you can. Speaking improves with repetition over weeks, so a few weeks of daily calls is worth far more than cramming in the last few days.

How much does it cost?

7 days free with no card. Then CA$49/month (or CA$490/year) if you want to keep your calls. That is less than a single hour with most exam tutors (CA$60–100).

Speak out loud every morning. Watch it get easier.
